If you can twist pieces of rope together, you have the basics of twining. This technique is the twisting of a minimum of two weavers around the stakes or the "skeleton" of the basket. We will be using a variety of materials like round reed, locally harvested natural materials (cattails, strawberry runners, dandelion) and more to create these delightful baskets. The weaves that we will experiment with are basic twining, 3 strand twining, and an arrow weave.
Participants will make one basket, approximately 18.5 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height.
