FUNDRAISING AND SUPPORT

The Yellowknife Guild of Arts and Crafts is a registered charitable organization operated entirely by volunteers.  As a teaching Guild, our mandate focuses on the accessible delivery of quality instruction in arts and crafts, and we strive to keep the prices of our classes, workshops and other activities as reasonable as possible.  Grant funding, sponsorship, and member fundraising are vital in achieving this goal.  We extend our deepest appreciation to all of the agencies, businesses and volunteers who contribute to the success of the Guild.

CANADA DAY ICE CREAM BOWLS

Ice cream served in handcrafted bowls made by Guild potters has become a tradition following the Canada Day parade in Yellowknife.  Ice cream is a welcome treat for parade spectators on a hot summer day... and the bowl is theirs to keep!

HOT CHOCOLATE TUMBLERS

Handcrafted tumblers made by Guild potters and filled with steaming hot chocolate are popular at our Christmas sales.  Shoppers can enjoy a warming beverage while browsing our displays on preview night or while selecting wares on sale days... and the tumbler is theirs to keep!

ONE-TIME POTTERY WORKSHOPS

The Guild periodically offers "One-Time Wheel" and "One-Time Handbuilding" workshops as introductions to the fun of playing with clay.  Participants enjoy an evening learning the basics of throwing on the wheel or manipulating clay by hand and make 2 pieces which are then finished and glazed by Guild volunteers.  Extra pieces can be made, if time permits, at a cost of $15 per piece.

FUNDING PARTNERS AND SPONSORS

The Guild recognizes and appreciates the support of our funding partners and local sponsors.  Their contributions contribute significantly to our ability to offer quality programming at accessible prices.
