In this class we will be exploring Arashi Shibori. This involves wrapping poles with fabric in a variety of ways to create some interesting patterning. There will be a short discussion and demonstration on dye safety and color mixing.
The minimum amount of fabric needed to try the techniques is 1 metre of cotton and is included in the registration fee.
Additional cotton will be available the day of the class at a price of $20 per metre. This price includes the cost of the fabric and dyes. How much extra fabric you buy is up to you depending on how fast you work and how much you want to dye. Fees for additional fabric must be paid on the day of the class!
Please wear old clothes that you won’t mind getting dye on! Dyeing can get messy. And bring a lunch!

Prerequisites: No prior experience necessary. Age 16 or older. Masking required.
