If you can twist pieces of rope together, you have the basics of making baskets by twining. This technique is the twisting of a minimum of two weavers around the stakes or the skeleton of the basket. We will be using a variety of materials like round reed, locally harvested natural materials (cattails, strawberry runners, dandelion) and more to create these delightful baskets.

Weaves that we will experiment with include basic twining, 3-strand twining, and arrow weave.

Participants will be able to make up to two baskets of approximately 18.5 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height.
